Sagging Jawline

A smooth, clean jaw line is considered to be one major feature of a youthful-looking face.

Over time, most of us experience looser skin, creating jowls and a sagging jaw line that can start to appear when a person is in their 40s or older. For most of us, it’s an inevitability that isn’t easy to avoid.

So why does this happen?. Loss of definition in the jaw is usually caused by skin laxity, where a breakdown of the elastin and collagen fibres cause the skin to become less elastic. Fat pads from our cheek area start to move south with the effect of gravity, and repeated facial expressions can cause folds, over which loose skin can fall.  Loss of the skin’s natural elasticity leads to a narrower, less youthful forehead and temple area, and a wider, heavier jawline.

Occasionally, even younger people can experience a sagging jawline. The reasons for this are normally different to those who are older, usually owing to excess skin caused by weight loss or gain.

What can be done to prevent or reverse a sagging jawline or jowls? Whilst some people choose to undergo a facelift (which can provide dramatic results), we specialise in a selection of less invasive, non-surgical solutions that can help to improve the appearance of jowls and recreate a more defined looking jawline.

Treat Sagging Jawline at MediZen with the following recommended Treatments

eTwo Skin Tightening

eTwo’s Skin Tightening treatment is called Sublime, which stimulates the skin to remodel itself and improve elasticity, smooth out folds and iron out mild to moderate lines and wrinkles. Sublime’s sister treatment, called Sublative, is a Skin Rejuvenation treatment that evens out discoloured skin, scarring and repairs sun damage. Both can be performed in the same session to help your skin look it’s very best.

Dermaroller

Dermaroller is a process of Medical Skin Needling which involves causing minor trauma to the skin to stimulate the body’s own natural production of collagen. This encourages the skin’s regeneration process to restore youthful and fresher looking skin. Offering minimal downtime, the treatment has been used successfully to treat fine lines, wrinkles, lax and sun-damaged skin; to reduce the appearance of stretch marks; and to improve acne scars.

Dermal Fillers

There are over 180 different Dermal Filler brands available on the market, and we’ve chosen only the highest quality, FDA approved brands of dermal filler, each with their own specialised benefits for different aspects of facial rejuvenation. We only use the best products provided by Pharamaceutical companies and backed by research and medical evidence for safety and effectiveness.

3JUVE

3JUVE combines the UK's three most popular, non-invasive anti-ageing technologies to reduce the three main symptoms that ageing skin can exhibit: Lines and wrinkles, sun damage and hyperpigmentation and a loss of firmness and elasticity. Utilising a simple three-step treatment, 3JUVE provides optimum stimulation of your skin (the dermis and epidermis), resulting in unprecedented collagen renewal and an even skin tone.
