What is Migraine Treatment?

Migraine Treatment using Botox has proved to be an effective and safe treatment to alleviate the suffering of chronic migraines. Over the last few years many of our clients, local Birmingham men and women that we have treated, had tried different drug or complementary medicine treatments. Unfortunately, their migraines were still having a significant impact on their quality of life.

Migraine Treatment involves a tiny amount of Botox being injected into the glabella (in the muscles that cause furrows between the eyes), temples, forehead and muscles in the back of the neck. It is not known exactly how Botox works for migraines, but this can significantly reduce the number of episodes, leaving you free to enjoy life with fewer disruptions. Botox for Migraines is a simple treatment and you can resume your normal activities immediately after the procedure. Results of Migraine Treatment using Botox on our clients actually reduce the number and severity of attacks leaving you free to enjoy more Migraine free days. Dr David Eccleston, Tatler’s “Man in the Midlands for Botox”, has helped a number of Migraine Sufferers. You will not find anyone else in the Midlands with more experience in the use of Botox!

Your Migraine Treatment Experience

Before Migraine Treatment

Before Migraine Treatment you will be invited for a consultation with Dr David Eccleston. As a General Practitioner, Dr Eccleston has over 20 years experience in the use of various drug treatments to reduce migraine symptoms, and due to his knowledge in the use of Botox understands whether migraine sufferers, who have not found adequate relief of symptoms via treatment through the NHS, are suitable candidates for Botox injections - and also where the optimum injection points are. It is really important to understand that the treatment of migraine needs to be tailored accurately to the individual, and may also vary in an individual from session to session.

During Migraine Treatment

Migraine Treatment takes places in our state of the art treatment rooms where our practitioner will make sure you are as comfortable as possible in preparation for your treatment.

During Botox for Migraine Treatment, a very fine needle is used, and most of our clients find that there is only mild and temporary discomfort.

The entire procedure usually takes no longer than a few minutes.

To see Botox being administered by Dr Eccleston at MediZen see our Wrinkle Relaxing Treatment using Botox Videos. This will give you an idea of what to expect during your Migraine Treatment at MediZen.

After Migraine Treatment

After your Migraine Treatment using Botox, you may notice tiny lumps where the injection has been administered. These will diminish after an hour or less.

Botox (Botulinum Toxin) will not prevent Migraines indefinitely. However, the results we have achieved at MediZen for our clients have lasted for as long as 6 months.

Migraine Treatment Side Effects

Migraine Treatment side effects are rare, but can include some tenderness or bruising at the site of injection.

As a very fine needle is used, most clients find that there is only mild and temporary discomfort.

We have treated thousands of local men and women with Botox and have experienced no long term side effects since we started using it in the late 1990s. It has been proven to be quite safe to have Botulinum toxin injections for many years and some of our practitioners have been treated with Botox (for wrinkle reduction) since the late 1990s.

Is it Suitable for me?

Studies have not been performed on women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Although Migraine Treatment is not thought to be dangerous, treatment is best avoided during this time. Some people with certain muscle diseases may also not be able to have treatment; this will be explained when you come to discuss your suitability for this treatment at MediZen.
