With Your Help, MediZen Are Giving Back to Our Community.

Our charitable contributions to both the local area, and national and international charity organisations, are something we are incredibly proud of here at MediZen. As of October 2018, we have raised over £36,000 via a number of charitable endeavours.

In 2016, we were commended for our numerous charitable donations by The Birmingham Post in their 2016 Birmingham Business Awards; in which we were finalists in the Contribution to the Community Award. We were recognised for our:

Considerable dedication to corporate, social and ethical responsibility, having a positive impact on the community and who have contributed substantially to the community through various means, including society-led projects, aiding economic regeneration and supporting local suppliers.

Each year MediZen host an annual charity ball and the funds raised go to a different local charity within the Birmingham community.

In 2018 our chosen charity was The Norman Laud Association, a local charity which provides quality short break services for children and young adults with special needs and support services for their families. We raised £8,200 at our annual charity ball for this wonderful charity.

In 2016 our chosen charity was the Queen’s Croft High School, which is a secondary school based in Lichfield for children with learning difficulties. Due to the kind donations from local businesses, as well as all of your support, we managed to raise £10,000 to go towards the building of educational and recreational facilities for the children.

We were proud to be invited to present a cheque, with the Mayor of Lichfield, Janice Greaves, in the newly completed children’s sensory suite which is already making a positive impact in the children’s lives.

Previous years we have held the charity ball in aid of Young Epilepsy, Breast Friends and the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Our team are all local Brummies’ living in and around the Sutton Coldfield and North Birmingham area and we continue our charitable donations with smaller acts of charity to contribute to the local community.

Over the past decade, we have held various events to raise money for worthy causes with Macmillan coffee mornings set up in the clinic, charity raffles, and members of our staff taking part in the London marathon in aid of Parkinson’s UK, Young Epilepsy, Breast Friends and GMTV’s Tough Moms Tough Mudder to raise funds for The Buddy Bag Foundation.

Our commitment to charity is ongoing as each month, in partnership with non-profit organisation B1G1, we choose an international charity to donate a portion of our MediZen profits too.

We realise how lucky we are to be in a position where we can help people feel confident, and we would like to pass on some of that to people who are in less fortunate situations than us.

We are also able to give back to the community via our partnership with the global giving initiative B1G1. We believe that every business has the power to change lives by integrating a ‘giving back’ philosophy into their everyday business activities. So for every treatment package we sell, we donate to a charity where we can make a real difference. B1G1 enhances the quality of life, strengthens communities and reduces poverty through sustainable development.

Since we started this initiative we have been able to help provide a variety of life-changing services to those in need around the world including; sending blanket to newborn babies in Kenya, donating audio books for the blind in Malaysia, sending scarves and warm clothes to help survive the winter in Ukraine, planting trees in Borneo, donating stationery to children in Thailand and sponsoring a clean water tap for families in India, to name a few.
